Age-Appropriate Education

King of Glory School follows The Creative Curriculum along with weekly thematic units as our curriculum. These units will mirror the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL).

Lessons are taught at each age-appropriate level so that the concepts are understood.

A typical day the classes rotate between many structured activities ranging from music and movement, large group time (circle time), planned activity centers, art, journaling and individual time.   Teachers carefully plan activities and set the environment so that all activities are age appropriate and are challenging to each child in our care.
While the activities are teacher planned/directed, at King of Glory we also encourage and appreciate when a child or group of children are intrigued by an activity and take the direction in a new, bigger, and/or different direction than the teacher originally had planned.

Spiritual Growth

In addition to the weekly units, teachers will also lead the children through our Bible Curriculum “First Look”.

Everything we teach our preschoolers in our Bible Curriculum is based on one of three simple, but powerful, truths. The entire curriculum is constructed to meet your preschoolers where they are cognitively, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. Through age appropriate activities, preschoolers are building their spiritual foundation so that by the time they graduate to Kindergarten they know these three basic truths:

  • God Made Me

  • God Loves Me

  • Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever

We do this in partnership with families as First Look has many resources for families as well.
